Update Your Contact Information

The easiest thing you can do is to make sure your contact information is up to date.

Update your contact information here so that you are kept informed about USU news.

Join a Committee

There are lots of opportunities to get involved by joining one of USU’s committees. Head over to the Committees page to see what you can help with and who to contact.

Become a USU Delegate

Every two years USU convenes a Delegate Assembly to chart our union’s course and to make any necessary amendments to our union’s Constitution.

Notices go out to all members before Assembly.

Contact your chief steward if you want to become a delegate.

Help your Steward

Your steward probably needs help. Talk to them and see if there is a way that you can pitch in and help them communicate with and organize your department.

Find your steward here:

Become a Steward

If your department doesn’t have a steward then you should step up to represent your co-workers. If you think you can do a better job or want to give your colleague a break from a steward’s responsibilities, then run for election.

Contact usuelections@gmail.com for more information on how to run.

Join the Bargaining Committee

Represent your colleagues at the bargaining table as we negotiate our contract with AFSCME. Each unit of USU (Field, Headquarters, and Field Support) gets two bargaining committee members.

To join the bargaining committee, you must be nominated by co-workers in your unit and receive the highest number of votes.

Contact usuelections@gmail.com for more information on how to run.

Become a Trustee

Union trustees ensure that USU’s financial assets are properly handled and accounted for. Trustees ensure that expenses were appropriately authorized, ensure that an audit is performed each year, and make sure that financial records are in order.

For more information about their roles please go to the USU Constitution.

Run for Office

The President, Recording-Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice-President/Chief Steward are all elected positions. Learn about what they do.

To run, you must be nominated to the Elections Committee. Contact usuelections@gmail.com for more information.
