Member Bill of Rights

No person eligible for membership in USU should be denied membership. No member shall be discriminated against because of race, color, creed, national origin, sex, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, union activity, political belief or affiliation.

Members shall be entitled to full freedom of speech.

Members shall have the right to fair and democratic elections at all levels of USU.  This shall include:  secret ballot in all elections; due notice of nominations and elections; equal opportunity for competing candidates; written election rules consistent with applicable law and this Constitution; open and fair count; internal Election Appeals process; and a prompt written report to the members of elections and elections appeals results.

Members shall have the right to full and clear accounting of all Union funds.

Members shall have full access to all minutes of meetings, except minutes from Executive Board meetings in executive session.
